We are looking for a dynamic and innovative leader who will enable this growth through implementation and support of our launch platform. Key to this mission are strategic, large-scale project management initiatives and programs that will allow us to scale our organization for the future in a dramatic way. This role is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role that will support our EU Operations Businesses in the opening of new site locations and market expansion by developing HR launch resources, standard processes, and tools.
Inspire, lead and develop a team of launch and project managers
Role models leadership principles and HR Tenets
Develop and drive critical people initiatives, large-scale projects and programs
Create and drive innovative and scalable system, process and mechanisms
Drives governance of all EU HR Launch activities. Facilitation of project status meetings and communication to internal and external stakeholders.
Builds cross-functional partnerships across all operations businesses works closely with Regional Operations leaders, new site leadership teams, and other departments such as Human Resources. Recruiting, Public Relations, Public Policy, Real Estate, Finance, Legal, Employee Relations, Payroll and HR Services to achieve objectives.
Fosters a culture of mentorship and partnerships between the EU HR Launch Team and the field launch teams and new site HR teams: ensures they are prepared to successfully deliver people deliverables.
Serves as Amazon cultural ambassador to site leadership team, employment base and local community: exhibits leadership principles and core values and infuses into local site culture
Helps integrates Amazon into the local community, partners effectively with labor offices and local administration with the support of PR and Public Policy teams.
HR Business Partner/ HR Manager/Project Management or related experience in an 24/7 operations environment, site launch experience highly preferred
Cross-functional project management experience required
Verbal and written fluency in English, other languages a plus
Relocation is not required if currently within EU
Travel of 40% or more required
The ideal candidate will have a proven record as HR Manager in a large building and launch site experience, program and project management in a fast-paced business environment.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills – ability to interface with all levels of the organization, specific strength in influencing decision makers as well as setting and managing expectations.
Experience identifying and resolving issues independently – solid sense of accountability and sound personal judgment.
Successful record of building and improving operational processes and procedures, ability to drive program efficiency and high levels of customer satisfaction. Highly capable of multi-tasking and executing on multiple project channels simultaneously.
Demonstrated program ownership and consistent delivery on commitments – great organizational skills with exceptional follow through and attention to detail.
Customer service orientation with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations ability to serve multiple customers (employees, managers, HR).
Comfortable with ambiguity, autonomy and capability to pro-actively troubleshoot prospective blockers to a site launch.
